It's OK!

Its Ok Thursdays

I'm linking up with Neely again for a wonderful round of
It's Ok Thursday!

It's OK...

To have a "catch up on tv night" once a week (Grey's, New Girl, Whitney, Up All Night, Glee).. Sunday, come sooner!

To just now fall in love with Nip/Tuck. I've been watching at least one episode per night on netflix and I'm addicted. Totally addicted.

To be worried about drinking too much water. I found out you can die from that!

To still be embarrassed about being startled by a CHIPMUNK and screaming like a little girl. In front of about 30 people. Good times.

To get my Boise State loving friend some Oregon Duck onesies for her little boy. Muahaha!

To be getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night, but still be tired because that's just too much sleep for me!

To be afraid that I'll have 7 years of bad luck.. I had a mirror break last night.. not good, people!

To wear a sweatshirt in 80 degree weather. I'm in denial.. I want it to be FALL ALREADY!

Go link up and share what's OK with you this Thursday :)

It's Ok..

I'm at school and didn't bring my laptop today (who does that?) so you can go over here (http://www.chroniclesofneely.com/2011/09/its-ok-thursday_22.html?m=1) to join in on the fun!

It's ok..

To be crazy the first week of school.. Trying to find a good school/work/homework/work out balance is tough stuff, man!

To need a caffeine patch. Honestly, who has enough money to buy coffee EVERY DAY? Definitely not college students!

To think lunch is overrated. Nobody died from eating 2 meals a day.

To think that moving to Hawaii to finish my degree is a fantastic idea! (I'm applying!)

To not be attracted to white guys even though you're white. Gosh, I HAVE to get out of Oregon!

To be the only girl willing to cut open a rat in Anatomy and Physiology. Hey, I want to be a nurse... Rats are nothin!

To expect nothing less than A's this term. It's worked the rest of my collegiate career..

To want to kick my math instructor in the teeth for treating me like I'm in middle school because I was helping someone turn off their calculator. Seriously? Keep staring at me like that and see what happens.

Seriously people, it's OK!

Day 15: New Bloggers

I would have to agree with Katie on a lot of her suggestions. Here are a few tips I have of my own:

1. Be yourself. Write like you talk. You have a personality and so should your blog!

2. Post pictures of yourself, your life, things you love, things you enjoy doing! It will make it easier to relate to you!

3. Don't comment on other blogs so that maybe just maybe they'll follow you, comment because you have something to say! I guarantee that will make them check out your blog faster than just posting a link!

4. Write about what you love. It's much easier to write about something you actually care about than trying to just blog about something because you feel like you should blog every day. Trust me, I've been there.

5. And finally, just have fun! You'll meet a lot of great people and have a lot of fun! Enjoy it :)

It's Ok Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

I had such a fun time linking up last week, so I'm doing it again.
Definitely go check out Neely's blog if you want to join in too.

It's OK...

To be a little stretched as far as the wallet goes because payday came 4 days early this month.
Stupid Labor day.

To want to kick the girl who keeps wearing a BUCKET of perfume to work in the shin.

To be excited for school to start. Even though 2 weeks from now I'll wish it was June.

To be disappointed in your team winning 69-20. The loss the week before was THAT devastating.

To spend hours doing laundry just for it to end up in a basket and on a computer chair...

To want to punch the cable company in the throat.
(We don't have local channels like ABC, CBS, NBC because the cable company in my town somehow had it banned from directv)

To make a face every time Rihanna says "Sex in the air, I don't care I like the smell of it."

To totally judge people on singing shows even though I don't have the guts to try out for them.

And it's TOTALLY okay to mess with your roommates outside the living room window when you get off work 3 hours early. Best.Thing.Ever.

Can You Say That?

For those of you who don't know, I'm currently working at a call center making reservations for hotels all over the country. This job definitely has it's ups and downs. The down side sometimes being that it's extremely slow and I take pictures like this all day...

The good side is sometimes I get some off the wall people who say the craziest things and they just keep me entertained. Yesterday for example...

Me: How many adults will be in your party?
Him: Two
Me: And will there be any children traveling?
Him: Three midgets
Uhhhh?
Me: Um... are they under 18 years of age?
Him: No, they're midgets though, can't they count as children?
Me: I'm sorry sir, our policy goes by age, not size.
Him: Well that's just plain wrong!

Seriously? I'm still speechless.

Day 14: What I'm Looking Forward To

I am looking forward to...

Going to the Ducks/USC game in November
School starting (I'll be singing a different tune next week)
Moving away for nursing school
Christmas with the fam
Meeting new people in my  new classes
NOT driving 2 hours a day to get to and from school
Getting paid next Tuesday..
Every Saturday for Ducks football.. duh
Hanging out with my brosef. Whenever that may be.

What are some things you're looking forward to?

Cam Wow

There is a free app out there for all of you iPhone/smart phone users. It's called cam wow. It is the best. I spent hours taking funny pictures of me and my friends. Here are some of the gems :)

Day 12: Goals

I have a lot of goals for my life. A lot of plans and things I would like to accomplish. Some of these goals are short term, some are long term. Here are some of the goals I would like to accomplish in the next year...

1. Keep my 4.0 gap
2. Get accepted into a great nursing program (even if it isn't at USF)
3. Stay in the word and write in my prayer journal more
4. Save up enough money to move to my new school

What are some of the goals that you have for the next year?

Day 11: Your Biggest Fears

I have a few things that I'm afraid of, and only one thing that I'm really afraid of.

I will scream like a little girl and run away from moths. They are evil bugs and I hate them. They freak me out. End of story.

I'm also afraid of mascots. Not a deep terrifying fear, but I really dislike them. When they get near me I have a mini panic attack.

My biggest fear is cancer. Me or anybody in my family getting it freaks me out. My grandma has already had it, and many people in my family have had it, so it really terrifies me. Stupid cancer.

Day 10: Your Special Someone

I don't have a special someone at this point in time. I know he's out there somewhere. Someone who will love me for who I am, and not try to change into something I'm not. I'm confident that I'll meet a guy like that eventually. Until then, I'm happy where I am right now.

Day 9: Favorite TV Shows

I don't actually watch too much TV on the actual TV, it's usually on my computer days after the show has already aired, but I do have my must watch TV shows... and they are:
Teen Mom- I'm addicted. Totally addicted. The drama, and just watching these young moms figure out what they want out of life, it's intriguing. Caitlyn is my favorite. Her story is close to my mom's (except that my mom didn't have an open adoption at first) so I'm always rooting for her to be successful. Farrah drives me crazy with the way she talks to her parents. Maci is a doll. And Amber is cray-cray.

Jersey Shore- Don't judge me. I love this show. I've watched it from season one. It's just funny to me. And Vinny and Pauly D aren't too bad on they eyes either. Snooki is adorable and I <3 her.

The Glades- I actually found this gem on netflix and now I'm hooked. Jim Longworth could come investigate me anytime ;). I love the drama and the love story between him and Calli. I just finished season 1 so don't tell me ANYTHING!

Rookie Blue- This is THE BEST COP SHOW I have ever seen. I'm sad that it's a summer show and its season finale aired last night (haven't seen it yet.. I'm going to watch after work!!). This show has everything. Mystery, romance, things blowing up, people dying.. it's kind of the cop version of Grey's Anatomy. Well.. the Canadian cop version of Grey's.

Fall Shows: Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill (SO SAD IT'S ONLY A HALF OF A SEASON THIS YEAR AND IT'S ENDING!), The Sing Off!, Parenthood, Glee.

Dang, it sounds like I watch a lot of TV. I really only watch at night when I'm ready for bed, or on my days off. It should be fun to stay caught up this year..

What are your favorite shows?

It's Ok!

Its Ok Thursdays

I'm linking up with Neely and Amber for "It's Ok Thursday"
If you haven't heard of it then just check it out over here and join in!

It's ok...

To watch Teen Mom religiously even though everyone thinks you're crazy for doing it

To miss a wedding because your favorite football team has a game. Hey, don't schedule your wedding on game days!

To hate putting clean laundry away. Is it just me? I'm pretty sure it's not.

To NOT get the whole twitter thing. Somebody want to explain it to me? Take me under your wing!

To know the date that your favorite starbucks drink comes out. Pumpkin spice latte's are back, my friends.

To do absolutely nothing on your day off. Including shower. Don't judge me.

To still not be completely unpacked even though you moved 4 weeks ago...

To read damnyouautocorrect.com like it's the bible when it's slow at work

To link up on everything that sounds interesting. My name is Brittany. And I'm addicted to link-ups.

Day 8: A Picture of My Friends

I can't choose only one. I have so many friends that I just LOVE.
So here are SOME of my closest friends.

Jenny, Kelly, and me. Kelly is my bff! And Jenny is preggers! Congrats, girl! :)

These are my friends at church. Alvina, Alexis, Kori, and Amanda.

My tattoo buddies. We all got them the same night. Craig, Kori, me.

Richard, Me, Alicia, Jesse, Ashley. I miss all of them dearly!

We were a little silly on my birthday. That's me and Jamie Rae.

My bff, the girl, and me.

 Me and Jac-a-lac-in (Jaclyn)
We were singing pals at my old church.

My oldest friend. I've known her for almost 10 years now.

Me and my hermano. We need a new picture together!

And my brother and I. He's my brother, but he's one of my best friends.

The Ultimate Blonde Moment

I went and got my hair did last month while I was in Eugene. I hadn't dyed my hair since right before I graduated from high school, so it was all my natural brown hair. I was getting tired of the brown (and I found 3 gray hairs) so I decided to switch it up a little bit. I went in to get a full weave (not extra hair, a color weave. My brother was freaking out thinking I was getting fake hair). Again, my hair was all my natural color (minus the little bit of purple left). Then this happened...

Hair dresser runs her fingers through my hair...

Her: "Oh! You have virgin hair!"

Me: "You can tell that from my hair?!"

Her: *Weird look on her face* "I just meant that your hair hasn't been dyed..."

Me: *Face immediately turns red* "Oh.. yeah."

Her: "You're adorable."

She probably thought I was an idiot. I felt like an idiot. Later on she asked me if I was excited to go back to school, and she guessed that I was a sophomore in HIGH SCHOOL! It was just a weird day all around. Go ahead, make fun of my blonde moment. I really don't blame you. And I am NOT ashamed to be a 21 year old virgin. I am waiting until I'm married, and that's that. :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Here's what I'm loving this Wednesday:

I'm Loving... that Fall is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! Granted this week is going to be the hottest one we've had all year, we've already had our first frost, so Fall is coming!

Image

I'm Loving... that even though my Ducks lost horrible on Saturday.. I'm staying pretty positive about it. I didn't see anything that made me think we're going to suck this year. As soon as those boys learn to hold onto the football, there's nothing and nobody who can stop them. I will always love my ducks!

I'm Loving... that my God never expects me to be perfect. He knows that I struggle daily, and He's always there to pick me up. I'm not worthy of his grace, but I'm so very thankful for it.

I'm Loving... .this picture

And this picture makes me giggle...

I'm Loving... that pumpkin spice latte's are back!

There's so much to be loving and appreciating everyday. What are YOU loving?

Day 7: Favorite Vacation!

I have only been on two real vacations.
My trip to Florida will always be one I remember..
but my vacation to Portland this past July is my favorite.
Because of the people I was with :)

My BFF and her daughter at the zoo

 Elephants are my favorite <3

Would you be surprised if I said I came up with that idea?

This was actually my favorite part. I'm AFRAID of birds..
But they just hopped right on your arm and drank the yummies.
This one actually climbed up my shoulder and sat there.
I had a mini panic attack. :)

 Kelly and the birdie :)

We were in Portland to watch the girl play softball
They got 7th out of 100 teams!

 Nike headquarters in Hillsboro
The headquarters actually has its own zip code!
We kept getting caught trying to sneak a peek.

We finished off the trip stopping in The Dalles to watch Kelly's son
play in his all*star game. That guy there is my hermano Mike.
The boy is pitching :)

This was my favorite vacation not because of what we did, but because I got to spend quality time with some of my favorite people. We made a lot of memories and shared a lot of laughs. Personally, I'd take that over a trip anywhere in the world.

Day 4: Tell Us About Your Family

    My family.. Where to start..

The Mom: My parents got a divorce when I was 14 years old. Growing up, I didn't get along well with my mom most of the time. We had similar personalities other than the fact that she liked to control everything, and I didn't like being told what to do, I was more of a free spirit. That made us clash a lot. We fought most of the time, but I always knew that she loved me and I loved her too. For the longest time, she was the only person I could really be myself with. She moved me across the state after my parents divorce, right before my sophomore year in high school. Although I hated her at the time, it was the best thing she could have done for both of us. My mom is a strong woman and she has a strong personality, but she is loved by many people. She is my hero, and I hope that if I was in the same position as her, I would be brave enough to do what was right for myself and my children. I can honestly say that my mom is my best friend. She knows me better than anyone.
The Dad: My dad and I haven't always had the best relationship. My childhood was rough, but I was able to forgive him a couple of years ago, and we've been much closer ever since. I always know if I need anything, I'm able to go to my dad. Although we're far apart (He's in Alabama) I know that he's there for me. I miss him though, I've only seen him twice since I was 16.

The Step-Dad: Scotty is amazing. He is the perfect person for my mom. God couldn't have picked a better man for her. He's loving, so caring, very giving, he's always willing to help anybody who needs help. He's someone that I love deeply and I'm so thankful for. He had a stroke a few years ago, so sometimes he can't communicate the way he wants to, but he's always able to communicate with me. And I love that we can share that bond.

The Step-Mom: Susan is a riot. I've known her since I was 13 (long story) and she's a great person. Her two sons were in a car accident 3 summers ago, and one of them passed away. She is seriously one of the strongest people I know. She went back to school 2 years ago and got her masters in psychology, specializing in grief psychology. She's taking a tragedy and turning it into something more. She's helping others and I couldn't be prouder of her.

The Sister: My sister is AMAZING. She is one of the most patient people I know. I love that even though we didn't grow up living together, it doesn't feel that way, because I don't remember a time when she wasn't in my life. She is a role-model for me, and I am always in awe of the great mother that she is. She makes me proud to call her my sister.

The Brother: Growing up, my brother and I HATED each other. When I say hate, I mean it. He tried to shoot me with a bb-gun and he was always beating me up or getting me into trouble. We hated each other until he moved out. Since he moved out, we have become MUCH closer. He is one of my best friends. I love hanging out with him. He is funny, smart, a nerd, and he's just like me. He's going to college this month and I am SOOOOO proud of him! I <3 my brother!

The Step-Siblings: Honestly, I don't know them as well as I should. I have 3 step-siblings. Jenielle and Devin (Scott's kids), and Brad (Susan's son). They're all older than me (The one who's closest in age is Brad, and he's 25) so that's part of the reason why we don't know each other well. That and they all live in different states. But I do know that they'd be there for me if I needed them, and they're my family. That's really all that matters.

I also have other people who I consider family, but I'll talk about them in a few days :)

Day 3: Tell Us About Your Job

She works hard for the money..

Luckily, my job is only a temporary job that I'll only have for a year. I'm pretty sure I would go CRAZY if I did this for the rest of my life! (Maybe that's why some people here are so cranky?)
I work at a call center. We get calls from hotels all over the country (I think 245 total?) and we make reservations for them. These hotels aren't big chains like Hilton or Best Western, so they don't need a big call center who only answers calls for them. They just need someone to fill in when their in-house reservations are not in, or when it's so busy they can't take anymore calls.

So I get calls from people looking to book rooms in Florida, Texas, California, New York, Tennessee, Hawaii, Alaska. It's actually really cool, but like any job, it has it's rough times. Some of the questions I've received are just ridiculous!

    Examples:
"What color is the carpet? I don't like green."
    "How many elevators are there?"
"Can I smoke on the balcony?" "No, sir, the hotel is entirely non-smoking." "But say I do it, will someone find out?"
"Has anybody famous ever stayed in that room?"
"But I saw the rate was $99, $100 is just too much."

And because I'm a girl and I have a decent voice, I've been hit on.
    Example:
Guest: "Will you be there when I get there?"
Me: "I will not, sir, I'm at a reservations center in Oregon."
Guest: "Darn, I was really hoping to finally have a face match that voice."

I'm very thankful for my job. It may annoy me 4/5 days, but I'm thankful that in this economy, I'm able to work.
