Say No to Drugs

"Why aren't you married yet, Brittany?"

Well... umm.. you see..

Pressured by a six year old to be married at the ripe age of twenty. It's a good thing I'm not insecure or anything, or those words could be fatal. To be quite honest, there are plenty of reasons I'm not married.

1.) Well there's the fact that I am not currently dating anybody, and haven't for a while. That could pose a problem in the whole getting married thing.

2.) As I just said, I'm only 20 years old! I have a lot of growing up to do before I'd even be ready for something like that.

3.) I'm not willing to settle. I'm waiting for the one. The one that God has for me. I know he won't be perfect, but I like to think we'll complement each other perfectly.

4.) I don't want to be married right now. I'm at a selfish point in my life where it needs to be about me. I'm going through a lot of changes, and it's easier to change when it's just me involved.

5.) I'm not really worried about the M word right now. It'll happen when it happens.

So, T, that is why I am not married.

A New Respect

I have been a nanny now for almost a full year and it's been, well, let's just say it's been a handful. Don't get me wrong, I love S&T, but they are very, very, very active boys. They need/want attention all the time. It's been a blast taking care of them.. the quirky things they say, the random things they do. It's been very fun..

But over night? For a whole weekend? I haven't made it through night one, and I'm already exhausted! I've had them since 11 this morning, and we're just now reaching 8:30, and I think it's just about MY bed time. I have a new found respect for moms that are with their kids full time. Sister, if you're reading this, I salute you. *Bows down* I'm not worthy! I kid, I kid. But seriously, how do you do it? I like to think that by the time I'm a parent, I'll be a pro. Nannying for more than a year and a half total, and babysitting here and there, being an aunt since the age of 12.. I darn well better be a pro by the time I have my own kids.

Crazy crazy crazy!

So sorry I have been missing in action as of lately. I've had a pretty crazy few weeks. Let me fill you in.

First of all, I have to show off my pretty new hair.. I wanted something different.. I wanted it a little shorter, and I wanted bangs. It was scary, but I did it! I think it turned out great, even if it is weird when my hair just stops when I'm running my fingers through it. Let me know what you think.

Secondly, as you know (I think) I've been looking for a new place to live in a new town where my school is. The search, my friends, is over! I will be sharing a place with 2 other girls, and they're both younger than me. They seem really mature though, so I'm excited about it. It will be an opportunity to make new friends, and just have a good time, and act my age a little more.

This next week is my last week watching the little boys that have wrapped their little hands around my heart. I'm very sad about it, but I'm also excited to move on and find something new. Lots of big life changes coming my way, and I couldn't be more excited.

Did I mention that college football starts in just a little over a week? I can't wait!!!

Until next time, friends.

30 Days of Me: Day 29

Day 29 - hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days

Well I'll be going to school, so obviously I hope to do great in school.
Straight A's would be nice.
Actually, straight A's would be needed.
(Nursing school is hard to get into)
Maybe meet a boy or two.
No more jerk boys either.
Hopefully find a place in Bend
Find a job too..
Stay close to my friends here in Pville.
(I have a feeling that'll be the hard part)
See my ducks win the national championship
Obviously that's a dream.
Go to Eugene to watch a duck game or two.
I just want a happy year for the next year.
That's my only wish.
Not too much to ask for, right?

30 Days of Me: Day 28

Day 28 - this year, in great detail

2010

January:My grandma was really sick this month. She was diagnosed with colon cancer, and had surgery, and took a long time healing. It was a very scary time in my family's lives. Especially for my grandma. But she pulled through, she's a fighter, and I love her very much!

My grandma getting baptized last summer

That pretty much consumed my entire month. Other than my huge workout kick that I went on. I worked out 26 days out of 31. I lost 20 lbs that month. It was pretty cool.. I don't know what happened.
Oh, and my ducks were retarded and decided to get into lots of trouble.
Stupid Jeremiah Masoli.

February:
Again, I had no valentine, weird. I would be lying if I said I remembered what happened this month. I think it was just work, and that's it. Nothing interesting. Stupid short month.

March:
I figured out what I wanted from life. I decided that I wanted to go to school for nursing.
For real.
And I got accepted. I got my taurus this much. She's a beaut, but she's pretty beat up.
Not bad, but hurts my heart to see the scratches ;)

April:
I contacted M for the first time in 5 months.
It was a mistake, but one that I had to make. I needed some closure, and though sometimes I'm still confused, and still wondering "what if", I'm glad that I called.
Even if I am a "stalker" for doing it.

I took a trip to Eugene with KE for the ducks spring game. First road trip in the new car.
It was fun :)
My mom and my grandma had a birthday this month too! Old ladies.. I kid, I kid.

May:
Duck spring game on May 1st! It was a blasty blast.
They looked good, and it got me very excited for the football season.
Even if my guy wasn't starting. I could wait til 2011 to see him play again, right?
Little T's birthday was at the end of the month, so of course I was there for that!
Lots of little league baseball and softball games this month.
I was a good auntie for sure.

June:
My birthday!! Duhh! I didn't do anything too exciting
But I spent it with people that I love!
More softball and baseball games.
More working.
Financial Aid stuff.
Blah blah blah

July:
Just posted on this, but I forgot that I was at E&H's all star games for the first week of the month.
H's team didn't do so hot.
E's team got 2nd.
It was a fun way to spend the week.
Lots of swimming.
Financial aid went through (finally)
Advising appointments
Got classes
Softball practices
Softball tournament (1-3)
Good times.

August:
Pool a few days this week.
Took the kids to the fair and S won a bike!
The kiddos didn't get their tootsie rolls though [sadface]
Going to a Casting Crowns concert on the 20th!!
They're my favorite christian band.. I <3>

30 Days of Me: Day 27

Day 27 - this month, in great detail

July

The beginning of the month, obviously started out with the fourth of July. I adopted a kitten at the "Celebration in the Park" and I love him to pieces! He's a little jerk, but it happens. Then I went with a bunch of friends to the softball field to bbq, and play a little softball. I ended up hurting my groin area, so I went home, took meds and snuggled my kitty.

The rest of the month is kind of a blur. I went to Eugene to see the brother for a day, and had some fun there. I've been working every week day, watching the cutest boys ever!! Throw in some days spent by the pool, a day or two at the lake, and some days at the park, and you have most of the weekdays I've had.

I've also been looking for a place in Bend. Not a whole lot of luck, aside from finding creepers. It's been annoying, but entertaining nonetheless.

I played in a softball tournament the last weekend of July. That was interesting to say the least. K got hit in the face by a softball (she was using too small of a glove and it bounced off and hit her square in the face) so she had a massive black eye. Still does, actually. We lost 3 games, and won one. The game that we won was a fun one, we won by 15. Woot. I won't talk about the losses. I did make a pretty play in the game that we won though, I was catching and I tagged a guy out at home. Cause I'm gangsta, yo. Not really, but that's alright.

Oh, another thing that happened in July.
I changed races.
I kid, but seriously, I'm really freaking tan.
No tanning beds, no laying out, no tanning lotion.
Just swimming, and spending time outside.
It's a beautiful shade of brown, and I'll be sad when winter hits.
So long, tan. It was nice to know you for a few months.

Not a whole lot happened in July that was noteworthy. Just your average month.
